Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This page explains how luxuryyachtchartersardinia.com uses cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, and what happens when your browser contacts a third-party server while you visit this site. It applies to anyone browsing the site, whether or not you go on to send a charter enquiry.
Storage used on this site
- Cookie notice status (local storage)
- Remembers that you closed the cookie notice. No expiry set by us; stays until you clear browser storage.
- Selected yacht (session storage)
- Remembers which yacht you clicked on so the enquiry form can be prefilled. Deleted when you close the tab or send the form.
- Visit identifiers (local storage)
- Two random identifiers (visitor and session) used for first-party visit measurement. Expire 30 days after your last visit.
- Google Fonts (third party)
- Loads the typefaces used on the site. Google receives your IP address when the font files are requested. No cookie is set for us.
- intl-tel-input via jsDelivr CDN (third party)
- Loads the phone-number input used in the enquiry form. jsDelivr receives your IP address when the script is requested. No cookie is set for us.
What these technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way: a site can save small pieces of information in your browser so it can read them back later. Loading a resource from a third-party domain, such as a font file, also lets that third party see technical information about your visit, including your IP address.
No cookies, no third-party analytics or advertising trackers
This site sets no cookies of its own, and we have not installed any third-party analytics, advertising or social-media tracker.
We measure visits with our own script, served from our own domain. It records pages viewed, time on page, the referring website, campaign parameters present in the link (such as UTM or ad click identifiers), device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language, and the country derived from your IP address; the IP address itself is not stored. If you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to your visit so we know which channel brought it. This measurement relies on two random identifiers kept in local storage for 30 days from your last visit, as listed above; it does not read cookies, because none are set.
Browser storage we use
Beyond visit measurement, the site uses local storage and session storage for two practical purposes, described in the table above:
- one local-storage entry remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice, so it does not reappear on every page;
- one session-storage entry remembers which yacht you clicked on, so the enquiry form opens pre-filled; it is deleted as soon as you close the tab or send the form.
None of these entries contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail.
Third-party requests and WhatsApp buttons
Two external resources are loaded while you browse the site: Google Fonts for the typefaces, and the intl-tel-input library, served from the jsDelivr CDN, for the phone-number field in the enquiry form. Both requests reach the provider's own servers and necessarily include your IP address, as happens with any request made over the internet; neither sets a cookie for us.
WhatsApp buttons on the site do not open a WhatsApp session or set anything in your browser until you actually tap them. When you do, we record the click, the page URL, referrer, language and the prefilled message text in our booking system, and then your browser opens WhatsApp. The conversation that follows runs entirely on WhatsApp, operated by Meta, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy, which we do not control.
How to control storage in your browser
You can view, block or delete cookies and local or session storage at any time through your browser settings; the exact menu depends on the browser you use. Clearing storage will remove the cookie-notice flag, the yacht selection and the visit-measurement identifiers described above, with no effect on your ability to browse the site or send an enquiry.
Future changes and the supervisory authority
If we ever introduce an optional cookie, for example for a new feature, we will update this page and ask for your consent first, before anything is set.
